Against the odds of Covid-19 pandemic, Future City Summit is hosting its 5th Annual Meet coming 16th — 17th December in Hong Kong and 21st — 23rd in Hangzhou respectively. Future City Summit Annual Meet 2020 is calling for urban tech projects submission and recruiting interested young leaders and parties to register, celebrate and co-create the new pages of resilient values for emerging cities in Asia and Africa.

Future City Summit Annual Meet 2020(“FCS2020”), continuing its dual-cities experiential summit model, celebrates the 5th Anniversary of curation since 2016 in Hong Kong. Together with the support of 35 City Partners across emerging Asia and Africa cities, the Summit this year addresses the shaping Post-Pandemic Recovery Agenda by assembling expected 300 technology entrepreneurs, town planners, public policymakers, impact investors, corporates and scholars.

The Summit would be curated in a mixed reality format, virtually in Hong Kong and physically in Hangzhou city, Mainland China. Supporting partners include investment promotion agency of Hong Kong government, InvestHK, Cyberport Hong Kong, Venturous Group, Hong Kong Scheme of Excellence Scholarship Scholar Association(HKSESSA), Global Solution Foundation, social impact communities Dream Impact and Social Entrepreneurs Meetup Community.

Roundtable for Emerging Future Cities Network in FCS2019

With the continuing commitment of Emerging Future Cities Network(50 members), FCS2020 visions to deliver Post-Pandemic Recovery Agenda with a multiple of launches including Future Workforce Policy Interest Group and Emerging Cities Benchmarking Scheme. “Technologies and Urban Planning Roadshow for Good Cities” would be respectively hosted along the Summit to identify 15 promising urban tech companies across emerging Asia and Africa and 5 most resilient urban master plans for effective deal matches and development, positioning Hong Kong the “Global Hub for Resilient Cities”.

Future City Summit was first curated by a group of scholars and entrepreneurs in Hong Kong, including Andre Kwok, Lawrence Yu and Peggy Tse, in 2016, with the support of Global Partnership Seed Fund from the Vice President Office of The University of Hong Kong. Since then, the Summit has been aggregating over 1,000 alumni from 50 countries across Asia and Africa. In 2018, the Summit has also established the first Emerging Future Cities Network with 12+ emerging cities and subsequent development program series “Public Private Partnership by Youth” in 5 cities in Southeast Asia.
