Indonesia — Hong Kong Digital Economy Investment Luncheon was hosted on 13th January 2023 in Tugu Kunstkring Paleis, an iconic colonial building-turnt destination for fine arts and fine dining in Jakarta, by the Good City Foundation, co-hosted by the West Java Creative Economy Committee (KREASI JABAR), the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office and Invest Hong Kong in Jakarta and the global family office Tsangs Group supported by the Indonesia Creative Cities Network (ICCN).

The Investment Luncheon was part of the 7th Annual Meet of the Future City Summit, in 2022, hosted by the Good City Foundation, as an annual curation that gathers key stakeholders in Asia that drives the agenda of sustainable development in cities.

The Investment Luncheon was attended by 20 key stakeholders and leaders in the public sectors and private investment sectors such as the Indonesia Creative Cities Network, KREASI JABAR, GInvestindo, OCBC NISP Ventura, MDI Ventures (Telkom Group) and joined by special guests such as Ms. Sri Pujiyanti, West Java Development Acceleration Team/ West Java Governor Expert Team, Mr. R. Yunandar Eka Perwira, Secretary of Commission II of the Parliament of West Java Province, Mr. Ricky Joseph Pesik, Chairman of the Standing Committee for Creative Economy and Digital of the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and His Excellency Berlianto Pandapotan Hasudungan, Director of ASEAN Economic Cooperation — Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and Mr. Lim Chze Cheen, Director of the ASEAN Connectivity Division, Office of the Secretary-General at ASEAN Secretariat.

In the year of 2023, Good City Foundation will host an event in Hong Kong with the World Economic Forum, who organizes the Winter Davos in Switzerland, to discuss the future of real estate, finance, circular economy and liveable cities. The Foundation will also host a smart city investment summit in Indonesia, as the roadmap to the 8th Annual Meet of the Future City Summit and the Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong. These connected activities are expected to unlock new opportunities in many sectors through Hong Kong, connecting to the neighboring regions in East and Southeast Asia, that are not yet well known to common investors.

“Creative Economy and Innovation Committee of West Java or known as KREASI Jabar are made by West Java Government in 2020 as an initiative to develop creative industries in West Java as one of the biggest province in Indonesia. KREASI Jabar are focusing to connect all the stakeholders available for the growth of creative industries in West Java and create programs for creative actors to increase their capacity in order for fulfilling the market demands. Since 2021 we connected with Good City Foundation to fulfill those goals, through conferences, workshops, and trying to improve the local government policy making methods with a well structured online course which by some of the participants are applied in their cities. In 2022, we successfully made Connecti:city an international conference on creative economy to become an official side event of U20 of G20 and produce 7 recommendation to put creative economy on the leaders note of G20. With that in mind, West Java are optimist further collaboration can create greater impact for creative industries in Indonesia and Hong Kong.” said by Mr. Harry Mawardi, West Java Creative and Innovation Committee of Indonesian Government.
